Poem: “BODY WORK” 4/3/22

BODY WORK by Atena O. Danner

I got a massage today.

The body worker, anticipating the

any-minute-now birth of a grandchild

attended to my back muscles as a midwife.

Together, we brought forth a stronger

more flexible

shoulder to carry

the safety of

the future of

this family.
